Ken Bennett

Introduced to quality audio at birth, by his father Steve, Ken has amassed an almost encyclopedic knowledge of equipment and its applications.  Despite being born to into hi-fi heaven, he has sacrificed many pay packets to the hi-fi gods and so every step along the way to sonic perfection has been carefully considered. He is one for detail and therefore understands intimately how equipment ‘ticks’. If Ken recommends a product, you can be sure that it will function exactly as he says.

Dahl Murphy

Initially sucked into the Hi-Fi vortex as a client of Steve Bennett Hi-Fi in the mid 70s, Dahl is very, very serious about great sound. Over his 35 year addiction to quality sound, he has owned an incredible variety of esoteric audio components. With this comes a solid knowledge of what is good and what is not and how it should be set up in order to shine. Being a Hi-Fi snob has its advantages for SB Hi-Fi’s clients. There is no way that Dahl will recommend a product unless it really performs.

Carlo Di Martino

Carlo (along with Dahl) spent many hours in the 70s loitering at SB Hi-Fi where his passion for fine equipment evolved. This passion led to a considerable investment in constantly evolving audio combinations. He is known for being very down to earth about everything audio and video. If it doesn’t sound good or produce a good picture image, then it’s dismissed. No ifs or buts. Today his expertise is aimed at getting the very best from a product in our client’s homes. His expansive knowledge on component functions and his ability to solve complex set-up problems has earned him respect from all who benefit from his attention.

Craig Stillman

Craig’s association with SB Hi-Fi was formed in the early 80s, when he replied to an employment advertisement. At the time he was completely unaware of the influence that quality hi-fi was to have on his life. Already a music enthusiast, he soon developed demanding standards in sound quality. Steve Bennett Hi-Fi will do that to you, as everyone here will attest! Craig’s extracurricular activity in the Car Audio sales and installation industry has honed a passion for detail and neatness that he now applies to our ‘Custom Installation' services. You know when Craig has done an installation…. It looks fantastic!

Doreen Bennett

Doreen, along with Steve, founded Steve Bennett Hi-Fi back in 1974. She’s the cheerful voice that you’ll hear on the phone while the rest of us are squirreled away in listening lounges, playing music and toying with hi-fi goodies. If ever you need to discuss anything related to the daily financial transactions of SB HiFi, she’s your girl. We keep Doreen locked in the engine room. If she escapes the whole place grinds to a halt!

Steve Bennett   1949 - 2008

Although Steve is no longer with us physically, his legacy and ideals live on. This wonderful collection of people and equipment are all a result of his incredible passion for music and technology. Add to that his kindness and unique sense of humour and you have a heritage of good will and pride that all of us will remember, respect and strive to continue.
