Beyonwiz Firmware Update
Beyonwiz released new Firmware in June 2009. This can be downloaded from their website http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/download.asp and installed using a USB key. After doing the update it is best to do a factory reset as well, which means rescanning the channels and resetting time etc, plus resetting your record timers. It doesn't lose any recordings from your hard drive.
here are numerous enhancements (see release notes available as a download also) and among these is the ability to preview recordings and long-awaited WizTV functionality.
Updating firmware followed by the factory reset will clear any bugs which may have crept into your beyonwiz in the form of remote control buttons which do not work or timers which misbehave.
A note about networking: if you want to stream video or music from your PC, make sure that the shared folder it is in has the Properties/Sharing permissions set correctly. This involves a right click on the folder, then go to the Sharing tab and then tick the boxes relating to sharing this folder with others on the network.
